why unbounded sex is frowned upon almost in every culture and religion?
speaking of evolution and darwins theory promiscusity indeed increases the chance of survival. so the ones who more often and more permissively had sex had better chance to reproduce and inherit their genes for the next generation. so i would expect humans to actually welcome and be biased in favor of promiscuity but in reality the opposite is the case. there are religions in India and elsewhere that completely condemn sex as immoral(even while being married). and there are many people that actually suffer from guilt of having sex or self-gratification. how is it possible scientifically while evolution shows us the other way about?

The cyncial answer: controlling sex is a way of controlling the masses.
The historical answer: The spread of Christianity has given us the negativity about unbounded sex. Prior to the spread of Christianity, sex was not considered bad. Greeks and Romans routinely considered sex a natural, positive part of life, and they considered an orgy a good expression of life.
